Hello! I'm Iris. My favorite color is yellow, and honestly that is the most relevant thing to know about me. I enjoy reading, writing, programming, and cooking. I'm also a fairly crafty person, and phase in and out of cross-stitch, paper crane folding, crochet, and bullet journal phases. I'm a massive Shakespeare nerd (and just nerd in general). I'm a musical theater fan, although I'm not super familiar with musicals from the past few years. I'm also a bit of a Vim enthusiast.

Personality Types

I know all these are sort of silly and not really backed by science or anything but they're fun to me, and make for an interesting lens through which to examine oneself, so I figured why not include them here?

ENTJ: Although I used to think that I was an INTJ, I realized that I was actually just shy, because I do actually gain energy from other people. Everything else has already been pretty static. I'm very much not an observant person, and make a lot of decisions on intuition. I also tend to do more thinking than feeling, and an a bit judgemental. I find this type to be rather girlboss, so that's fun. It's literally called "The Commander" on 16 Personalities, so...

1w9: I think the Enneagram is a really interesting personality quiz because it's definitely one of the more "self-help"-y ones. Being a 1 wing 9 means I want to have integrity as a person, and fear being corrupt or evil (according to The Interwebs at least). When in a negative frame, a 1 becomes a 4 (which can look moody and self-pitying), and in positive times, becomes more of a 7 (which is spontaneously embracing life). People who are 1s also tend to be pretty perfectionistic, which fits.

Cancer: I don't think I'm much of a cancer at all. How un-Cancer I am is actually one of the leading reasons that the horoscope stuff never appealed to me. Usually the lead personality traits of being a cancer involve being emotional or romantic, and I'm honestly not either of those things. Like don't get me wrong, I like a bit of romance, and I have emotions, but neither of those two things would even make it to the top 10 characteristics about me. And honestly, I just view the "Moon" and "Rising" signs as a cope for people disagreeing with what their Sun sign says.
